About

Get the tiger is one 3D tiger that lives inside exactly one product at a time. Anyone can take it from anyone by paying €1 more than the last person did. That is the entire mechanic.

One tiger, one owner

A small 3D tiger lives inside exactly one product at a time. While you hold it, it renders on your site and every visitor who clicks it sees who you are.

Anyone can take it, any second

No auction and no waiting. Name any price at least 1 € above the last one and the tiger moves the moment the payment clears.

You find out what it was worth

Every Monday you get the impressions, the clicks and the traffic the tiger sent you. The day you lose it, you get the final number.

How a reign works

  1. You name a price. Anything at least €1 over the current one. The first reign starts at €1. Your card is authorised, not charged.
  2. The tiger moves. If nobody beat you in the meantime, the authorisation is captured and the tiger is yours. If somebody did, the hold is released and you pay nothing — never a refund, because there was never a charge.
  3. You paste one line.A single script tag puts the tiger in a corner of your product. It runs in a sandboxed iframe and never touches your page's DOM, CSS or JavaScript.
  4. Every Monday you find out what it was worth. Impressions, clicks and the traffic it sent you. The day you lose it, you get the final number.
  5. Your listing stays either way. The bid buys a permanent place on Get the tiger as well as the reign. Being outbid costs you the tiger, not your logo, your link or your pitch — and there is no subscription to keep them there.

The long version is on the rules page.

Why a tiger

Because a badge nobody can buy twice is worth looking at. Ranking lists hand out the same widget to everyone who pays, so the widget stops meaning anything the day the second person gets one. There is one tiger. Holding it is a fact about you that nobody else can also have.

The price is public, the whole history is public, and the list of who held it before you never gets deleted. What you paid is the number somebody has to beat.

Who runs it

Get the tiger. It is a small thing run by people, not a platform. If something breaks, or a payment went somewhere strange, write to hello@getthetiger.lol and a person reads it.
